It has been 5 years since my Momma went to Heaven. My grief is still real and the loneliness of her absence claws at my heart.
My friend at church, Jackie Rose, cared for her mother for several years as I did. It was during the Covid pandemic when her mother's health required hospitalization and Jackie had to suffer the additional pain of not being able to be at her mother's side in those days before the Lord took Mrs. Wineberger to Heaven. Mother's Day is especially hard for Jackie.
But in the midst of her own grief, on this Mother's Day Jackie reached out to the rest of us who are missing our Mother. To all of us whose Mother is in Heaven, she gave a bookmarker with the poem "A Mother's Love". It is a beautiful poem and I share it here with the prayer it will bless you as it did me.
A mother's love is forever, and her influence never ends. And because our love for her never ends, our grief will never end either. And that is the way it should be.
Happy Mother's Day, Momma. I love you still.
Shared in love,
Cris
